Myofascial Release Techniques
The Best Myofascial Release Care
Myofascial Release Techniques (MRT) is a series of therapeutic interventions for soft tissue injuries such as muscles, tendons, ligaments & fascial structure. MRT is a natural, therapeutic, typically used in musculoskeletal injuries as a result from the over-used muscles. This may include conditions such as strains, sprains, tears and chronic conditions.
Muscle strains and/or tears can be caused by illnesses or injuries such as Tendinopathy / Tendonitis (causing tenderness and throbbing pain), Joint sprains (involuntary painful contractions), Postural stress (repetitive strain injury) and Nerve entrapment (Ulnar nerve compression at elbow level). In time damaged muscles become less elastic and eventually do not glide as they should. This kind of damage causes pain and stiffness. This is also known as myofascial tightness.
The techniques used are Deep tissue massage/release, Foam rolling, Counter-strain techniques, Soft tissue mobilization, and Structural integration. This practice is used by Physiotherapists as well as massage therapists to promote feelings of well-being.
The licensed physiotherapists at DUNDAS 427 PHYSIOTHERAPY are certified in soft tissue release therapy and they use it for illnesses and injuries such as neck, back pain, tension headache, carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder pain, sciatica and knee problems, Achilles tendinopathy. This technique also promotes healthy blood flow throughout the body.
